ETAG: A device secures and automates refuelling

Erla Technologies SAS has implemented a camera system which provides security to access to installations and also allows refuelling at service stations to be automated for all of a company’s vehicle and machinery.

After having received an award for its onboard GPS modules at the 2009 Convention of French Mayors, Erla Technologies SAS has confirmed its position as leader by presenting its new automatic identification device at the Solutrans trade fair.

This highly innovative device allows vehicles to be automatically recognised and to receive access authorisation for diesel pumps.

Indeed, thanks to its experience and expertise in the field of design of petroleum product storage and refuelling equipment, Erla Technologies SAS’s engineering teams have developed the Epack vehicle recognition and access control system.

The system and Epack software are very easy to install for any facility and provide Erla Technologies clients with the possibility of being able to secure and monitor all of their installations. What is the operating mode of the access control modules on Epack software?

When the user approaches the installation zone or the service station with their vehicle, it is automatically identified via video recognition. Then, in order to enter the zone or to begin refuelling, the driver identifies himself/herself via a unique security code or presentation of a contactless badge sans contact which operates with RFID technology.

Once the vehicle has been identified, the user can then refuel the lorry, bus or piece of construction machinery with petrol, diesel, fuel oil and Adblue. In addition, with installation of the onboard GPS module inside vehicles, the distribution management controller recovers the data from the GPS box in order to analyse consumption and to deliver the optimum quantity of fuel according to activity.

The access controllers have been specifically developed to provide simple and intuitive day-to-day use while guaranteeing equipment performance and reliability.
